Horehound

Ballota nigra
Also known as black archangel, henbit and hairhound. The name horehound is derived from "Horus", the Egyptian god of sky and light. Ancient herbalists prescribed it for fevers and malaria and as an antidote for snakebites, rabid dog bites and ingested poison. Horehound was traditionally carried in sachets as a protection against sorcery. When drunk as a tea, the herb (might) promote mental acumen and clarity.

Buchu

Agathosma betulina
Buchu is the colloquial name given to a group of small, aromatic shrubs endemic to the Western Cape mountains of South Africa. Two species are cultivated on a commercial basis for their essential oils, Agathosma betulina and Agathosma crenulata. The leaves of Agathosma betulina have traditionally been used as an herbal remedy for ailments of the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts, as it has diuretic and antiseptic properties due to various phenolic compounds.
